In my opinion, tasks are always divided into those
VERY important tasks from the mole’s perspective (you can earn a lot of money, gain knowledge about the mole, the mole can get eliminated for 1 episode like now, etc.) and
the ordinary ones. In the ordinary tasks, the mole’s position isn’t always crucial—sometimes they don’t even have to sabotage anything and can even earn money. Let’s not be misled by such tasks.
In task 2, both the boat and the other locations are good for sabotaging, because you can at least slightly influence the smaller prize pool. Here I wouldn’t risk saying “the mole had to be in group X.” BUT in task 1, I DO NOT BELIEVE and DO NOT UNDERSTAND why the mole would just “give up” fighting for their own notebook. Of course, something could have gone wrong along the way, but if, like Vincent—knowing the questions—he simply DOES NOT SAY his correct answer and skips it, that would be the STUPIDEST mole action in history. Same with Abigail.
Karla + Dries also have the worst position. Everything is in the hands of others. Those others could just as well free themselves and decide to run first, while they can literally do NOTHING to free themselves.
That’s why I’m betting that the mole was either among the shooters or in the group that was "free". Strategies here can vary—Mol could have done what Maxim did and rescue his own notebook, but I also understand Wout, who took his own notebook but maybe wanted to play the candidate and take a few more. I also understand Isabel and Kristof, who simply didn’t succeed (even though they tried). I even understand Julie, who might have wanted to control which notebook would be taken.
Everyone else, to me, is ILLOGICAL, and I see no argument for why in such a crucial task the mole would decide “I don’t care.”
I still consider the shooters suspicious—but as a side note—I’ve watched almost all editions and I can sometimes feel when the editing team is trying to mislead us by overemphasizing suspicion toward certain people. Usually at the beginning, the editing doesn’t try too hard to steer us toward the mole, but here I think I heard several times that “the shooter is the perfect position for the mole,” as if they were trying to push us in that direction. And I kind of feel that might be a red herring.
For me, the
top suspects at the moment are: MAXIM, WOUT, ISABEL, KRISTOF, JULIE, possibly YANA and YANNIS (to check).
Eliminated for now: ABI, VINCENT, DRIES, KARLA.
